Iana A. Patterson is an experienced correctional manager with 19 years in the Criminal Justice system — 3 of those years in the field of Substance Abuse/Re-entry initiatives. During her time with the Florida Department of Corrections she served as a Correctional Officer, Sergeant, and finally Captain, working with both male and female offenders. She is currently the Facility Director of Turning Point Bridge Work Release Center where she is responsible for operational, programmatic, and licensure standards. In addition to being a certified Correctional Officer Mrs. Patterson served in the United States Air Force from October 1984 through October 1990 during Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm. It is her sincere desire to assist staff and offenders in developing their knowledge, skills and leadership capabilities.

Site History

The Turning Point Bridge opened its doors as a private Work Release Facility in 2005. Currently, the facility houses up to 206 offenders who are within 14 months of their release date and have earned the privilege of being able to work in the community. Turning Point Bridge located in Pompano Beach off Atlantic Boulevard and Dixie Highway, offers Outpatient and Aftercare Substance Abuse counseling for those offenders with dependency issues. Clinical, Operational and Chaplaincy staff works together, cohesively to provide care and services to offenders to assist in their smooth transition from incarceration to society.

Program Type

Work Release Program is designed to allow incarcerated inmates who are near completion of their sentence to work at paid employment within the community, but housed at a Work Release Facility.
